Danville may feel like a quiet suburban community, but its roads tell a different story for new drivers. Sycamore Valley Road carries fast-moving traffic between major residential neighborhoods and leads directly onto 680 via on-ramps that have been the site of repeated multi-vehicle collisions. Diablo Road transitions from suburban arterial into a tight, winding rural road with limited sight lines all while carrying heavy traffic volume, particularly during school rush hours. Downtown Danville, with its multiple pedestrian crossings, confusing two-way stop intersections, and tons of kids running around near Primo’s and Yogurt Shack, is a substantial driving challenge for experienced drivers, let alone brand new ones! And 680 itself, running directly through the heart of Danville, is one of the busiest commuter freeways in Contra Costa County.

Get Ready for Danville Roads

Danville’s roads present specific challenges new drivers need to be prepared for:

Sycamore Valley Road — One of the most accident-prone corridors in Danville, Sycamore Valley Road carries high-speed traffic that funnels directly onto the freeway. Residents have consistently flagged red-light violations and aggressive driving at the Brookside intersection. The extended right-lane ramp design creates driver confusion about lane usage — exactly the kind of scenario that benefits from simulator practice before facing it in traffic.
Camino Tassajara — This long road connects Danville’s residential neighborhoods to more rural conditions east of town, with some limited sight lines to traffic signals, long lines of cars, intersections that have a history of right-angle collisions, and speeds that catch new drivers off guard.
Diablo Road — A winding, sometimes narrow road leading from Blackhawk, past Mt. The Road-Ready package delivers everything a new driver needs to get a drivers license, including In-Car lessons and Greenlight’s exclusive simulator-based training that builds the foundational physical skills and experience required to drive, all in the safety of the virtual world. This package is your "one-stop shop" that will take students from zero to hero in the safest, most efficient, and most effective driver training program available anywhere.

This comprehensive program includes:
✅ A CA DMV-approved online Drivers Ed course
✅ Three (3) 1- hour simulator training sessions. Two (2) sessions to start*, plus one (1) more advanced session after the second in-car lesson. But, if your driver wants more sim training before going to the car, We've Got Your Back at no extra cost! (Up to six (6) total sim sessions included).
✅ Six (6) hours of personalized behind-the-wheel instruction. Delivered as four (4) 1 1/2-hour training sessions starting and ending at our Danville training center.
